“Kalo” is pen & ink on acid-free Bristol paper and 14in x 11in. It is shown here in a black mat, but will be shipped unmatted in a cardboard tube for protection ($20). Kalo or Taro as it is also known is a tropical plant grown primarily for its edible root. It is believed to be one of the earliest cultivated plants. Zamondo drew this for the 2017 Kalo Festival at Waipa in Hanalei. The Kalo Festival happens every year in December and features locally made Kalo dishes and Hawaiian music.
